Bouffier praised our training alliance and was also interested in the practical training procedures at the Training Centre. The measures recently initiated to integrate older employees were also commended. "It is not acceptable that a person over fifty is unable to get a job," was how Bouffier explained his convictions. Afterwards he was pleased to learn that the first course participants in the "Comeback@50" project" are all in employment following this qualification measure – a remarkable success. While the placement rates are very high due to the Training Centre, the drop-out rates tend to be far below average. Bouffier also pointed out: "The C + P Training Centre is an impressive result of creativity and entrepreneurial acumen. The people benefit from the combined expertise of many participating companies, while the entrepreneurs can count on qualified personnel for the future. These are the sort of concepts which help us to meet the demand for skilled labour in Hesse in the long term."
During the following tour through the workshops in the Training Centre, the Minister-President took advantage of the opportunity to talk to some of the trainees and to get some good impressions of this facility, which has become indispensable beyond Hesse’s borders, particularly in view of the fact that roughly one quarter of the trainees are from the neighbouring state of North-Rhine Westphalia. The visit was finished off with a light meal, during which Bouffier had the opportunity to swap ideas with C + P officers. He gave fresh impetus to the work at our Training Centre.
